Scar Work
Paula is qualified in McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release and has worked on surgery scars of different types to normalise the tissue, increase, or decrease sensitivity, reduce pain, and improve range of movement.
After working on a scar, the tissue has more strength, less oedema and improved blood supply. The treatment can be used on both visible scars and non-visible adhesive tissue such as those that occur with a frozen shoulder and pelvic adhesions.
Some examples of use:
- Knee and Hip Replacement scars,
- C-Section scars,
- Cancer related surgical scars (after ‘all clear’ has been given.),
- Scars from mole removal and vaccinations,
- Adhesions from accidents, and injuries,
- Other surgical scars ie., laparoscopic and keyhole surgery,
- Trauma wound scars, lacerations, and punctures to the skin,
- Amputation scars.
Treatment usually takes 20 – 40 mins depending on the size of the scar and results are fast and effective.
